Complex compositions (regardless of genre)
$5 / per square inch
Step-by-step guide for commissions
Step 1
What does it even mean, "Complex compositions", you'd ask?
Crowds, mythical creatures, a multitude of objects (people, animals, vehicles, etc.), especially if a higher degree of realism is required. That's what it means. It's one thing to work on a rather generic cityscape, it's a whole other thing to zoom right into the midst of traffic, passers-by, and people chilling out in a street-cafe somewhere in New York, Moscow, Barcelona or Nice.
Step 2
After we agree on the source material (which photo will serve as reference), we will have to decide on materials, size of the project, and other details.
Materials. Is it going to be canvas or wood panel? Which one do you prefer?
Size. We have to decide on the size of the final work. The size will determine the pricing. It also informs the ratio of the work and tells me what prep work I should do to get the surface ready for painting.
Framing. Do you want the painting to have one of my custom handcrafter float frames with hanging hardware, or not? There's no wrong answer here. Both are fine with me. If you want me to frame your painting, it will add to the overall cost an extra 10-20% from the price of the painting. For example: the cost of a painting is estimated at $200, a float frame plus hardware add another 10% to it, so you have a pricetag of $220).
Step 3
Now that we've decided on all the really important stuff, let's discuss the deadline. Do you want your painting shipped to you a couple of days before a holiday, a relative's birthday, an important date? Well, then we have to plan ahead of time, and I will need sufficient time to prep for the project, paint the project, and allow enough time for the paint to dry. Let me break down the average timing for all of these elements:
Prep time: 1 week or less
The artsy painting stuff: 1-3 weeks (depends on the size and having necessary supplies)
Drying time: a minimum of 3 weeks to ensure a dry enough paint for shipping
Let's recap. The average time needed for me to get the project done and ready to ship will take roughly 6-8 weeks.
Step 4
After we discuss and agree on all of these elements, I will expect a full payment through Paypal. Once the process is started, and the materials are purchased, there are no refunds or cancellations.
Once the payment is received, I get to work immediately and prioritize your project until it is fully finished. I will provide snapshots in the early stages and accept any suggestions and revisions, but only in the early stages. Once I'm locked into the project, I will use my own artistic vision and discretion in handling the project.
To be added to the commissions list, please email ladycatherinecorelli@gmail.com. This is where we shall discuss your photo reference, desired dimensions, and other details, including payment instructions. If I decide to accept your request, I will tell you the approximate finish date and pricing.
If for some reason I'm not able to finish the work on your project by the time agreed upon, you will receive a full refund via the payment service you've initially paid through.
